Pastor Greg Boyle

In August of 1976, Pastor and Mrs. Boyle along with their first baby, Amy, left for Tennessee Temple University. While there God blessed them with their second child, Christa, and called them to start a church in Spokane WA. In May of 1981, the Boyle's headed out by faith to start a new church that would reach not only the city but also the military personnel at Fairchild Air Force Base.

On September 20th 1981, Faith Baptist Church held their first service in the home of Pastor Boyle. The next month they were able to rent a small building. In May of 1982 thirty people raised $10,000 and voted to buy a building at 1002 E. Montgomery where Faith Baptist Church met for the next 17 years. Many people were saved and baptized in the 100 year old building.   Faith Baptist Academy met in the basement for many years and the lives of many young people have been changed as a result. God has called some of our youth group kids into full time Christian service and off to Bible college.

In April of 1999 Gospel Light Baptist Church, under the direction of Pastor Rick Donley merged with Faith Baptist. God had knit the hearts of Pastor Boyle and Pastor Rick Donley many years ago. Because of the merger of the two church's God has enlarged our coasts and given us our current facility. Faith Baptist Church has a heart for people. Our goal is to win the lost and train Christians to serve the Lord.

Faith Baptist Church took on their first missionary during their first week of existence. Faith Promise mission giving is an exciting part of our church. Mission Conference time is a big time around our church. We love missionaries. We are pleased to support 78 missionaries around the world. We are now the sending church for 3 missionaries who are from our church. The Goodman's in Mexico -- Bro. Ron Goodman grew up here at Faith Baptist Church. While being raised in a single parent home, his mother many times sent him to Pastor for guidance. Ron met his sweet wife Jeannie at Bible College and together surrendered to the call to the mission field. On November 10, 2002 they started the Biblical Hope Baptist Church in Morelia, Mexico. The Baduria's in Vancouver, BC -- Bro. Baduria is a product of the military ministry here at Faith Baptist. Bro. Andy worked with the teens while stationed here and then went off the Bible College where he met his wife Susan. In September of 2002 they started the Sunrise Baptist Church of Vancouver, B.C. The Postma Family went out to start the Mountain View Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NV in October of 2001. The Postma's came to our church as a young married couple stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base. They grew fast and Bro. Scott surrendered to preach. Trained here under Pastor Boyle, Bro. Postma has been a great asset to the ministry serving as Assistant Pastor for 9 years.

God has been faithful to raise up ministries that reach people at Faith Baptist Church.   Faith Baptist Academy, a place where parents can trust that their children are getting a Christian education is not only a place for education but a place where good sportsmanship is taught.  Pastor Rick Donley heads up this ministry and has developed a staff of faithful servants who have a heart for young people.

Patch the Pirate Club is a character building children's program that encourages young people to memorize scripture and to walk with the Lord.

Our bus ministry goes out into the highways and the hedges to bring children from all around our city. Many children and their families have been saved because of this ministry. The bus ministry is manned by a group of dedicated volunteers who faithfully visit and work on the bus routes. Some of the children reached on the bus routes have gone on at a young age to be with the Lord. We are so grateful that we were able to reach them with the gospel. We will never under estimate the value of the bus ministry as we see some of our bus kids now grown up and off at Bible college.

Our Sunday school has classes for all ages. The Friendship Bible Class is a class for adults that Pastor teaches in the main auditorium. The Homebuilders class is for young couples 30 and under. The Ladies class is especially designed to meet the needs of ladies. They have a lot of fun and fellowship learning the bible together.

Joy missionary fellowship is a monthly ladies meeting centered around being a blessing to missionary wives and their families. They host special events such as a the mother-daughter tea and the ladies retreat. Joy fellowship keeps a well stocked missions closet and a bread of life food cupboard.

Berean Youth Ministry is a place where teens can serve the Lord together. They have fun activities but the real emphasis is growing in the Christian life. The teens go soulwinning every Wednesday after school. They plan a mission trip to help new works with door knocking, vacation bible school and any other ways that they can encourage the Pastor. Every June they host the Inland Northwest Youth Conference. It is 3 day's of great preaching where teens from around the Inland NW can come and be encouraged around God's Word.

When Pastor Boyle came to Spokane in 1981, he saw the need to reach the military at Fairchild Air Force Base. Over the years, God has given us many precious military families to minister to. Some were saved through the ministry here and other's just got busy serving the Lord.  Many have come and gone as the Lord and Uncle Sam moved them to their next duty station.   The place they have had in the heart of Faith Baptist Church can not be replaced. The first family at Faith Baptist was Warren and Lai Allshouse. They arrived at Fairchild just two days before our first service and were very instrumental in the early days of the church. They are now serving the Lord full time in Okinawa at the church where Pastor and Mrs. Boyle were saved. One great thing about the military ministry is that you have friends all over the world. Many times young military families are looking for answers to the problem's of this world. Through the military ministry we have seen many come to know the Lord and go on to serve Him with their life.

Faith Baptist Church is all about people. People from all walks of life and backgrounds. Our goal is to see people as a soul for whom Christ died and tell them about the saving grace of Jesus Christ. After salvation, our desire is that we might help people grow in the Lord and learn to live lives of faithful obedience to God and His word
